A variety of cooking methods is a good idea. Colin has a double gas hob inside but when the weather is nice you dont want to be sat inside cooking! We also have a fold up barbecue and a George Foreman grill which is amazing for most meats etc. We also have portable gas burner stoves. We have since invested in a Campinggaz Party Grill and that’s amazing!
Get a long electric hook up wire. Colin came with a 10m cable which we soon realised isn’t long enough. We bought a 25m cable and believe it or not we have had to join the two together at some sites!
An awning is amazing for a variety of reasons. Not only does it double your living space but also provides shelter from the weather. Having a campervan means we have to pack stuff away each day but the awning means we can dump stuff in there and it stays dry. We started off with a Shelterpod but found it a bit small and a bit of a pain to put up and down so we sold that and got a Vango Galli Air 11…. Inflatable awning which has a forward facing porch (most we looked at had a side facing/ opening porch). It’s a drive away awning and really quick and easy to attach again when you arrive back from a day out.
We have invested in a self inflating double mattress too… Not essential but makes the nights a bit comfier!
