Colin’s first run out!

So, two weeks after getting Colin and we finally got to take him out for a camping trip!

First stop Dunelm’s to accessorise… We picked up a selection of orange and grey cushions and a teddy bear blanket.

Got to Peterborough, Ferry Meadows and put the kettle on! The collapsible kettle is fab and does about 4 cups.

First time putting the Sheltapod up was fun. Maybe not necessary for this weekend, but we wanted to practice putting it up and taking it down again… And it did come in handy when our friends popped over on Sunday. We could easily fit a table and four chairs in it.

The sleeping was good… The heating used to warm up the van before bed and then switched off. Our new sleeping bag ridiculously warm! Definitely won’t need that in the summer. Bit nippy when we woke up in the morning but we whacked the heating on again and it didn’t take long to warm up at all.

Kettle on, cuppa’s made and a fruit breakfast prepared, ready for the day ahead.

All in all, a very successful first trip… Can’t wait for the next one.

  • Great van for touring. So well fitted out and loved the accessories. Hope you have many happy trips out with Colin and that the weather is kind to you as often as possible.
